I figured I'd get this thread started and be the first post in longer term trading....or does everyone just daytrade here

Anyone selling options on futures or companies?

I'm trying to review market action the last month and visualize how I'd react if I was short puts at the beginning of the year and down a good bit...

Right now I'm thinking of putting on credit spreads on futures indices and staying out of short puts on equities...

Hi Lsubeano,

I tried some time ago to sell puts on stocks and it was not a bad experience. It was overall possible to profit.
I quitted because at the moment I don't have a large trading account and I had to put at risk too much margin capital compared with the profit potential.
I prefer daytrading. I know that is far more difficult compared to option trading, but the profit potential is higher and, more important, it better fits my personality.

Regards
Jean

Derivative transactions, including futures, are complex and carry a high degree of risk. They are intended for sophisticated investors and are not suitable for everyone. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results, and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
